The Opportunity
Driving Miss Daisy is a trusted community transport service dedicated to providing safe, friendly, and reliable transport for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring extra assistance. Our focus is on delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring our clients feel valued, respected, and supported throughout their journey.
We are looking for a compassionate and customer-focused Community Companion Driver to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in support work, aged care, disability services, or community transport who enjoy working with people and making a positive impact.
As a driver, you will provide door-to-door transport for clients, assisting them as needed to ensure their journey is comfortable and stress-free. You will drive a company-provided vehicle, working flexible hours to accommodate peak times.

Key Responsibilities
- Transport clients safely, courteously, and professionally
- Assist clients with mobility challenges, ensuring their comfort and security (including manual handling of light wheelchairs and/or suitcases)
- Provide social support and assistance unique to each client as a trusted companion (sometimes this includes transporting ‘fur’ babies too)
- Drive both short and long distances, including occasional city trips and peak-hour travel
- Maintain clear communication with the scheduling team to ensure punctuality
- Conduct basic vehicle checks and keep the vehicle clean and presentable
- Represent Driving Miss Daisy with professionalism and a customer-first approach
Essential Requirements
- Must live within 10 km of Forest Lake, Queensland (e.g., Bellbird Park, Goodna, Inala)
- Hold a current driver’s license with full or near-full demerit points
- Be available for flexible work hours, including early mornings, weekends and potential split shifts
- Preferably hold an Industry Driving License or be willing to obtain one (approx. $400, including medical and licensing fees)
- Hold or be willing to obtain a Yellow Card (disability sector clearance) and Blue Card (working with children clearance), plus First Aid and CPR certifications must be current
- Must be willing to undergo drug and alcohol screening and provide an acceptable National Security Check
- Be comfortable driving in varied traffic conditions, including peak-hour and long-distance trips
- Possess good organisational and time management skills
- Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to different client needs
- Have patience, empathy, and great communication skills
- Comfortable with technology to enable navigation and digital record keeping
